Farm Machinery Specialist

Are you an expert at operating various Agricultural Farm Machinery & seeking a lifestyle change? As a Farm Machinery Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for safely and efficiently operating our impressive self-propelled sprayer and other quality & modern farm equipment in the picturesque Forth Valley on Tasmania’s Northwest Coast.

About the role
You will be key member of our permanent agricultural team, based at Forth in the picturesque Forth Valley on Tasmania’s Northwest Coast.
As a permanent Farm Machinery Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for safely and efficiently operating our impressive self-propelled sprayer and other quality & modern farm equipment.

What you’ll be doing day to day

• Operating and maintaining spray & various agricultural equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
• Mixing and preparing chemicals
• Applying crop protectants, herbicides, and fertilisers, using appropriate spraying techniques.
• Monitoring weather conditions and adjusting operating schedules to optimise effectiveness and minimise environmental impact.
• Maintaining accurate records of activities, including chemical usage, equipment maintenance and crop quality
• Collaborating with supervisors and agronomists to ensure proper application rates and procedures are followed.
• Ensure compliance with WHS & all regulatory requirements related to chemical application and environmental protection.

What we are looking for
You will have a passion for the land and be highly proficient & skilled in operating various Agricultural Machinery, with several years of operational experience, preferably working as a sprayer in the fresh produce industry.

You will be able to demonstrate the following the qualities, skills and qualifications:

• Self-motivated and reliable
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Eye for detail & excellent time management skills
• Current Driver's License
• ChemCert Certificate
