Snackables®

About

Snackables® is an exciting new product range for Harvest Moon. The first product in this range is our Snackable Carrot, a small Carrot grown specifically for snacking. These Carrots are purpose bred from exclusive genetics to be small, crunchy, and super sweet. New products in the range are currently being trialled including a snacking Green Bean and a snacking Radish!

Growing and harvesting

In Tasmania, we plant our Snackables Carrots in June until late January. These are harvested between November and June. We work with a great company in Gatton (Queensland), who plant from February through to August, with the product being harvested from May through to November. Our third growing region is in Narrandera, New South Wales, on a Harvest Moon-owned farm. We plant there from April through to early August, with harvesting beginning in July. Being able to grow Snackables Carrots in different regions allows us to supply this great product all year ‘round.

Buying

Just like traditional carrots, Snackables Carrots should be firm with a bright orange colour and a relatively smooth skin. For your convenience, we’ve taken all the hassle out of picking the best ones by only putting the best ones in an easy-to-grab punnet!

Storing

Snackables Carrots keep best when refrigerated in their punnet until you are ready to eat them (that’s if they make it home from the supermarket!).

Cooking

Perfect in lunch boxes, as a healthy snack on-the-go, or for an entertaining platter, Snackables® are an excellent go-to for healthy and convenient snacking. Snackables can also be cooked the same way you would traditional Carrots.

Eating

Just like traditional Carrots, Snackables Carrots are high in beta-carotene, the nutrient that gives Carrots their colour. They are super rich in beta carotene, which our body then converts into Vitamin A, which is essential for healthy skin, our immune system and good eye health and vision. They are a good source of Vitamin A and are a source of fibre, potassium, and vitamins B6, C and K.

Try it now

If you don’t want to just eat them straight out of the fridge, these little beauties can be substituted in this recipe for Maple Glazed Carrots from taste.com.au.
