Green Beans are members of the common bean family, and are a popular part of diets around the world. There are approximately 150 varieties of Green Beans that come in all shapes.
They are distinguished from other varieties in that they are harvested and consumed with their enclosing pods, typically before the seeds inside have fully matured.
Green beans are often steamed, boiled, stir-fried, or baked in casseroles. Store unwashed fresh beans in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Whole beans stored this way should keep for about seven days.
